BSF attempts to build barbed wire fence on border, BGB obstructs

According to BGB and local sources, BSF came out of their territory around 11:00 am and suddenly started construction of barbed wire fence along the zero line (no man's land) in sub-pillars 23 to 26 of international pillar number 8 of Haripara border. When the matter came to notice, BGB intervened. At that time, some local people gathered at the border and started protesting. In this situation, extra BGB is being deployed there and careful surveillance is being done. On the other hand, it is reported that additional BSF has been deployed on the other side as well.

Eyewitnesses said that suddenly, along the zero line of the border, Indian workers dug holes and installed iron pillars and started building a barbed wire fence. Some distance away, BSF personnel pointed their weapons towards Bangladesh and started patrolling. During this time, more BSF personnel were seen there than usual. When the villagers and BGB members stopped the work, the Indians retreated.
