Budget size is getting smaller

The interim government will also cut the current fiscal year's operating budget to control inflation and restore economic stability. Estimated expenditure could be as low as Rs 1 lakh crore. Which can be finalized within this month. And almost all of the cuts could go from the Development Program or ADP.

Experts feel that this decision is logical in the current reality. However, the growth-friendly projects should be continued.

Keeping the crisis in mind, the Awami League government gave a relatively small budget this time. Departing from the previous continuity, the size is also slightly increased. But still there was no innovation in allocation allocation. Therefore, although the target of expenditure of 7 lakh 97 thousand crore rupees is set for the year, about 5 lakh 7 thousand crore rupees are kept in the undeveloped sector including salaries and allowances, interest.

On the other hand, the size of ADP is estimated at 2 lakh 65 thousand crores. Almost all of which became dependent on domestic and foreign loans. In such a situation, the interim government wants to reduce development and underdevelopment by 1 lakh crores to a feasible position.

Mostafizur Rahman, an honorary fellow of the private research institute Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD), said that some ambitious targets were set and then revised. Revenue collection, domestic savings have also failed to do so and debt targets have been deviated at times. Deviation remained the same even if not because we could neither earn nor spend.

For various reasons, ADP implementation has been disappointing over the past few years. Notably, this rate dropped to 80 percent in the last fiscal year.
