BUET authority to take decision on banning student politics: Gayeshwar

Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, a member of BNP's standing committee, said that the BUET authority should take a decision whether to stop student politics in the campus for the sake of the education of talented children.

He made this comment in response to the questions of the journalists present after inquiring about the treatment of District BNP Joint Convenor Dewan Shaheen, who was seriously injured in an attack by the ruling Awami League leaders and activists in Natore on Monday morning and is undergoing treatment at BSMMU.

BNP organizing secretary Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, deputy secretary Taiful Islam Tipu and others were with him at that time.

Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, said that we want student politics. We have also come this far through student politics. Student politics is not an obstacle. A group of student organizations in an educational institution, their various types of rape-torture-torture of women, dissident student organizations are not allowed to stay and brutally killed the brilliant student of BUET Abrar. Not only the students, civil society and political parties of the country rose up in protest. Then the BUET authorities decided that there will be no political student organization in BUET. In the context of which BUET has taken this decision, whether it is still in force, whether there is a danger – BUET has to decide whether there will be student politics, considering the overall aspect.

He said, if the BUET authorities think that the BUET authorities will stop politics there for the sake of keeping the atmosphere of the campus calm and for the education of the talented children of the parents who study here – that is their decision.
