BUET Exam Postponed

Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) authorities have suspended all the scheduled and ongoing examinations in the face of the demands of the students who are protesting against student politics. Saturday (April 20) BUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. This decision was taken in an emergency academic council meeting chaired by Satyaprasad Majumdar.

Confirming the matter, Director of Student Welfare Department of BUET, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al Amin Siddique said that all the exams have been postponed in the academic council meeting as the students did not participate in the exams. We will sit with the students, discuss when the exam will be held again, after which the new date will be announced.

He further said that we will resolve the High Court issue by discussing with the students. And since we have not received the written order of the High Court, we have not thought about it yet. If we receive written order we will take action accordingly.

When the central leaders of Chhatra League entered the BUET campus at midnight on March 28, the students started a movement. In the wake of the agitation, BUET student Imtiaz Rabbi filed a petition in the High Court demanding the introduction of student politics. As a result, the High Court ordered the suspension of the ban on BUET's student politics.

Meanwhile, the students did not make a visible movement to demand the end of politics, but all but one of them were skipping the exams. In the face of students' demands, the BUET authorities decided to postpone the examination.
