The Indiana Fever secured a record above .500 for the first time since 2019 with a 100-93 win over the Dallas Wings on Sunday.

The Fever now stand at 17-16, a feat that has taken them five years to achieve. It’s also the first time Indiana has had a winning record in August or later since 2016.
Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 36 points. Caitlin Clark wasn’t far behind her teammate as she finished with a 28-point, 12-assist performance.
“When you have two guards that are both making plays, it puts the other team in the tough position of what to take away, who to put on who,” Clark told ESPN. “We’re definitely shooting it well. We’re playing off each other well. We’re looking for each other, and we’re getting downhill, too. I think it’s been a good balance of everything.”
Both Indiana guards scored five three-pointers each. The duo finished a combined 10 of 18.
Mitchell’s performance was her seventh straight game with 20-plus points. She has scored 20 or more points in every Fever game since the Olympic break.
Clark’s performance on Sunday was her sixth game with at least 20 points and 10 assists, which is yet again another WNBA single-season record.
The rookie guard was coming off a stellar 31-point performance against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky, a matchup many believed would further solidify the front-runner for Rookie of the Year.
The Indiana backcourt continues to look unstoppable as the Fever chase a playoff spot.
Mitchell and Clark’s upward trajectory points to the duo being the next Steph Curry and Klay Thompson of the WNBA.
Once the team started to build a strong rapport, the dynamic duo has averaged 44.3 points per game through the last 12 games.
Mitchell and Clark are currently the highest scoring duo in the WNBA.
The seven-year veteran and the rookie have propelled the Fever to a potential playoff berth, something Indiana fans have been desperate to witness for years.
“They’ve laid it out there. We just keep talking about emptying our tank,” Indiana coach Christie Sides said. “The confidence that they’re playing with, I’m proud of the road games. The road games have been tough. We just keep talking about momentum, keeping our foot on the gas.”
The Fever return to Indiana to take on the Los Angeles Sparks before closing the season out against Washington. The team gets to play its final six games in front of a home crowd.
