A supporter has been fined Tk 40,000 for using live animals in the election campaign of Brahmanbaria's Vijayanagar upazila council.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Mozaherul Haque fined him on Saturday (June 1) around 6 pm. Vijaynagar Upazila Parishad elections will be held on June 5.
Executive Magistrate Mohammad Mozaherul Haque said that a supporter of chairman candidate Nachima Mukai Ali violated the election code of conduct and used live animal horses in the campaign. For this, he was fined 40 thousand taka.
The Executive Magistrate gave instructions to the candidates and supporters present at the time to follow the election code of conduct.
