The Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended the licenses of firearms issued to civilians for the last 15 years. At the same time, the firearms along with the ammunition have been ordered to be submitted to the police station.
This was informed in a circular signed by Faisal Hasan, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday.
According to the circular, the license issued to the civilian population from January 6, 2009 to August 5, 2024 has been suspended.
It is also said that they have been requested to submit the firearms along with the ammunition to the concerned police station by September 3.
