Firearms licenses issued to civilians have been suspended for the past 15 years. At the same time, the Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered to submit firearms along with ammunition to the police station. This was informed in a circular signed by Senior Information Officer Faisal Hasan of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday (August 25).
According to the circular, the license issued to the civilian population from January 6, 2009 to August 5, 2024 has been suspended.
It also said that they were requested to submit the firearms along with the ammunition to the concerned police station by September 3.
