Case against 128 people in Joypurhat including Sheikh Hasina-Kader

A case has been filed against 128 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, former Whip and Member of Parliament Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan and Member of Parliament Samchul Alam Dudu in connection with the shooting death of college student Najibul Sarkar alias Vishal during the anti-discrimination student movement in Joypurhat.
Mojidul Sarkar, the father of deceased Najibul Sarkar alias Vishal, filed this case in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Atiqur Rahman of Joypurhat Chief Judicial Magistrate Court as the plaintiff. The court directed the OC of Jaipurhat Sadar Police Station to register the case as a statement.
Abdul Momin Fakir, the lawyer of the plaintiff in the case, said that the list of accused in this case includes the names of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former bridge minister Obaidul Quader, two members of parliament including the former whip of Joypurhat, top leaders and public representatives of the district Awami League.
On August 4, Najibul Sarkar alias Vishal (18) was killed by security forces during the non-cooperation program of the anti-discrimination student movement. He is the son of Mojidul Sarkar of Ratanpur village of Panchbibi upazila. Najibul Sarkar was an 11th class student of PanchBB Business Management Institute. 14 days after the incident, the father of deceased Najibul Sarkar Vishal filed a murder case in the court as a plaintiff.
