Case against 8 people including Rajshahi DIG Anis


A case has been filed against 8 people including former Superintendent of Police DIG Anisur Rahman in Jessore on the charge of extrajudicial killing. After arresting a youth named Abu Saeed of Jaipur village of Manirampur upazila of Jessore, they have been accused of killing him in crossfire.

Mocha, the deceased's wife, filed this case in the court on Sunday (August 18) almost a decade after the death of Abu Saeed, who was involved in BNP politics. Parveena Khatun.

Currently Anisur Rahman is working as DIG in Rajshahi range. Judicial Magistrate. Imran Ahmed has ordered the DIG of Khulna range of police to investigate the allegations and submit a report.

The matter was confirmed by Shahid Iqbal Hossain, the lawyer of the plaintiff in the case.

The accused are – Jessore District Superintendent of Police Anisur Rahman, Monirampur Police Station then OC Molya Khabir Ahmed, SI Tasmeem Ahmad, SI Shahin, Subrata Singh, son of deceased Durgapad Singh of Jaljhara village of Monirampur Upazila, Matiar Rahman, son of Jinar Ali, deceased of Khord Gangra (Jaljhara) village. Firoz Ahmed, son of Abdul Mannan and Muntaz Ali, son of deceased Nowsher Ali member of Jaipur village.

The complaint also mentions that her husband Abu Saeed was arrested by the police on the orders of the then Superintendent of Police Anisur Rahman from the village doctor Bajlur Rahman's shop in Jaipur Bazar of Manirampur Upazila after the evening of February 17, 2015 and taken to the police station.

Abu Saeed's wife Parveena Khatun immediately went to the police station and found her husband in police custody. Later, when Parveena Khatun met the OC at around 12 o'clock in the night, she told her that her husband had been arrested on the orders of the Superintendent of Police. He asks her to speak to the Superintendent of Police. Besides, the OC also asked to contact Awami League leader Muntaz Ali.

Abu Saeed was detained pending the case. Parveen Khatun came to know that her husband Abu Saeed was shot dead in police custody and the body was brought to the police station at around 6 am the next day. Later, Parveen Khatun came to know that Abu Saeed was taken out of the police station with physical torture and he was shot dead at Begaritla on Jessore-Satkhira Road. After that, the accused conspired to perform the autopsy of Abu Saeed and sent the body home.

In the complaint, the plaintiff in the case claimed that when he tried to file a case regarding the death of Abu Saeed in police custody, he was chased away with threats without taking the case. He has filed this case in the court for the sake of justice as the environment is favorable now.
