Case against former judge Manik in Noakhali

A case has been filed in Noakhali court against former Supreme Court judge AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik for making objectionable comments about BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman.

On Monday (August 19) afternoon, the organizing secretary of the central committee of the Krishak Dal, Advocate Rabiul Hasan Palash, filed the case in the Senior Judicial Magistrate No. 1 Amli court as the plaintiff.

The plaintiff in the case himself confirmed the matter and said that the judge took the case into account and set the date of order on Wednesday (August 21).

According to the complaint, Ziaur Rahman is the founder of BNP, former president and a brave freedom fighter with the title of Bir Uttam. Former Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik made offensive comments about him in various media.

Lawyer Rabiul Hasan said that former Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik made offensive comments about the personal and political identity of Ziaur Rahman, saying that 'Ziaur Rahman was not a freedom fighter, he was a spy of Pakistan'. Which is disseminated in print, electronic and social media. The honor of Ziaur Rahman and his family has been damaged by Manik's comments. Especially during the student agitation last July, Manik used rude and ugly, misogynist, insulting words and behavior in the talk show aired on Channel I. Which was seen by people all over the country and also went viral on social media. For this, I filed a lawsuit demanding his trial.
