Case against two former MPs of Noakhali

On Monday (19 August) Noakhali-6 Amli (Sonaimuri) Magistrate Mohammad Sajjad Hossain's court, Asif's father Md. Morshed Alam prosecuted the case.

In the case, former Member of Parliament of Noakhali-4 (Sadar-Subarnachar) Constituency and former General Secretary of District Awami League Ekramul Karim Chowdhury and former Member of Parliament of Noakhali-1 (Chatkhil-Sonaimuri) Constituency HM Ibrahim have been made defendants.

According to the source of the case, after the fall of the government on August 5, the students and the public held a joyous procession. At that time, the procession was attacked on the orders of former member of parliament Ekramul Karim Chowdhury, HM Ibrahim and former mayor of Choumuhani municipality Akhtar Hossain Faisal. At that time, when the marchers took shelter at Sonaimuri police station, they were shot at. Meanwhile, Md. Asifsaj and several others were shot. Asif was taken to a local hospital. When the condition worsened, he was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Asif died last Friday (August 16).

Police Inspector of Noakhali Judge Court. Shah Alam said that a case has been filed in Asif's murder. 39 named people and 2500 unknown people have been accused in the case.
