Case in the name of brothers and sisters and nephews of former President Abdul Hamid

A case has been filed against 92 people including former President Abdul Hamid's brothers and sisters, nephews in a separate case in connection with the attack, vandalism, looting and hand grenade explosion in Mithamain Upazila of Kishoreganj.

Mithamain Upazila Jubo Dal convener Imran Hossain Jerry and a local restaurant owner Farhan Shikder Parag filed two cases as plaintiffs on Sunday (August 18) afternoon, Mithamain police station OC Ahsan Habib confirmed.

He said that none of the accused mentioned in the case has been arrested so far. However, the police are still trying to arrest them.

It is known that two separate cases have been filed on the charges of attack, mayhem, cocktail explosion and vandalism in a restaurant in the victory march of the anti-discrimination student movement. Where former President Abdul Hamid's younger brother Chief Abdul Haque Nuru, younger sister Mithamain Upazila Parishad ex-chairman Achia Alam, nephew Mithamain Union Parishad chairman Advocate Sharif Kamal, Hanif Kamal, Tarek Kamal and several family members have been accused.

According to the statement of one of the two cases, after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5, around 4:30 pm, the leaders and activists of the BNP and the party's affiliates in Mithamain Upazila, along with anti-discrimination students and general public, took out a victory procession. As soon as the procession reached in front of a sweet shop on Sadar Bazar's pharmacy road, Mithamain Upazila Awami League leaders and activists attacked the procession. The assailants went on a rampage and exploded cocktails.

In another statement, it is mentioned that around 6 pm on the same day, leaders and activists of Awami League, affiliates and affiliated organizations attacked Panchforan restaurant near Mithamin Nabi Kathbazar and vandalized and beat them.

In one of the two cases, the main accused and 47 other unknown 40-50 people have been accused. In the other one, the main accused and 45 other unknown 30-40 people have been accused. According to the police, efforts are being made to arrest the accused mentioned in the case.
