Chance of storm in 10 districts including Dhaka during the night

A storm of 45-60 kmph is likely to occur over 10 regions of the country by 1 am. That is why the Meteorological Office has asked the river ports of these areas to show the number one warning signal. This information was informed in a circular signed by Meteorologist Kh. Hafizur Rahman on Thursday (August 22) afternoon.

According to the notification, from 3 pm to 1 am today, the country's inland river ports should display the number one warning signal. Meanwhile, the possibility of storm has formed in 10 regions. They are – Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet.

It has also been informed that there may be rain or thunder with gusty winds temporarily at a speed of 45-60 km per hour from the south or south-east over these areas. River ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1 (re) 1.

The Meteorological Office has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in six divisions of the country including Dhaka in the next 48 hours.
