Chhatra League leader hacked to death in Teknaf


Miscreants hacked to death a Chhatra League leader named Murad (26) in Teknaf of Cox's Bazar. He was injured in an attack by miscreants in Shamlapur market of Upazila Baharchhara at around 4:30 pm on Monday (May 6). When he was taken to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, the doctor declared him dead.

The deceased Chhatra League leader Teknaf Upazila Baharchhara Union Awami League founder president Saifullah Company's son. He was the organizing secretary of Baharchhara Union Chhatra League.

Local residents said that Murad was coming to the market every day. When he came to the market, some miscreants including a young man named Rafiq attacked him. At that time, when people came forward on his screams, the miscreants ran away.

OC Osman Gani, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Model Police Station, said that the Chhatra League leader was killed by the miscreant's knife. Efforts are underway to arrest those involved in the incident. However, he did not know what caused the incident.
