Chhatra League worker arrested in Rabi confessed to various misdeeds

General students arrested a Chhatra League worker in Shahid Habibur Rahman Hall of Rajshahi University (Rabi). The students said that after the arrest, this activist has confessed to various misdeeds committed by the Chhatra League.

When Shahid Habibur Rahman entered the university hall at 3:30 pm on Sunday (August 18), ordinary students detained him and tied him up.

The arrested Chhatra League activist is a student of the 2021-2022 session of the management department of Al Amin University. He was a follower of Mominul Islam, President of Shahid Habibur Hall branch of Chhatra League.

Later, the army members searched his room and found a bottle of liquor and arrested him. He will reportedly be handed over to Motihar police station.

The detained worker said, I originally joined the Chhatra League to get a seat. Moreover, Shahid Habibur Rahman is the president of Chhatra League Momin from my area, so I stayed in his room for 7-8 months. However, I have not been involved in any political activities for the past three months.

At that time, the student hall president highlighted several misdeeds of Momin. These include seat trading, BCL leaders sitting on rooftops and consuming phensidyl and ganja together.

Common students told about this activist that he was an activist of Chhatra League and took a stand against students in the anti-discrimination student movement. He used to send various information of the hall to the leaders and activists of Chhatra League. He is also accused of harassing ordinary students in various ways.

In this regard, Surgeon Abdus Salam said, we got the news and arrived at the spot and found that the general students had detained one person on the charges of BCL workers. We searched his room and found an empty bottle of liquor. The worker admitted to being associated with the Chhatra League. We will hand him over to Motihar police station.
