Child Zubayd is waiting for his father's return

To 4-year-old Zubayd, his father is everything. It's been 17 days since that father is gone, but he still doesn't realize that his father is no longer alive. Zubayd's hope father will come from the office! Talking about father, father is now in office, he will come at night, he will sleep with me. Every night he goes to sleep waiting for his father, he arranges his father's pillow next to his pillow, this way the waiting time is constantly increasing for this ignorant child.

Mir Jewel Mia was shot dead by law and order forces on August 5, the day of Sheikh Hasina's downfall in the student uprising. Jewel Mia is a youth worker. The government took part in the party program from the very beginning in the movement to overthrow the government.

Jewel Mia's home is in Mymensingh's Nandail Upazila, Minghai Kakdara village. He is the son of Abdul Hai, a farmer of that village. Jewel is the eldest among 3 sisters and 2 brothers in the family. He lived in a rented house in Mauna village of Sripur upazila of Gazipur district for a long time and worked in a local factory.

Jewel's father Abdul Hai told RisingBD that Jewel was the sole breadwinner in the family. The family was running on Jewel's income. The whole family is distraught by the sudden death of Jewel.

He said, Jewel got married 16 years ago. Zubayd was born after 12 years of marriage. Father loved Zubayd very much. But he still doesn't understand that he doesn't have a father. Jewel wanted to make his son an Islamic scholar. With the sudden death of Jewel, there is now a doubt about the beautiful future of son Zubayd.

Gazipur District Youth Dal leader Ariful Islam Sarkar told Rising BD that Jewel had been regularly participating in the movement to oust the Awami League government for a long time. Jewel was shot dead at Mauna Palli electricity junction during the non-cooperation movement on August 5. Darkness is now in front of this family. This child along with sister-in-law is now in her shelter.
