Parul Mia (65) was killed in a clash between two sides over the occupation of government Khas Patya (playground) in Sunamganj's Dirai. Hundreds were injured on both sides in this incident. There is tension in the area. Police are at the scene. The incident took place on Thursday morning (August 29) at the playground south of Bangla Bazar in Rafinagar Union in the upazila.
According to investigation, this clash took place between two villagers led by current chairman Sailen Chandra Das, former chairman Rejuan and Kadir Mia, Sona Mia of Mirzapur village, centered on occupying the government field in the south of Bangla Bazar in Rafinagar Union of Upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Dirai police station OC Ikhtiyar Uddin Chowdhury confirmed the truth of the deceased and said, “Our team is at the spot and I am going to the spot.”
