Clippers’ James Harden Has Surprising Reaction to Low NBA 2K25 Rating

When the Los Angeles Clippers brought star guard James Harden to the team last season in a trade, there was some speculation that things wouldn’t work out. Over the years, Harden has earned a reputation as someone who causes drama so there was thought that it would continue in Hollywood.

But Harden was on his best behavior with the Clippers after arriving, helping them become a force in the Western Conference. He fit in nicely alongside Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, creating a strong big-three for Los Angeles.

The former Arizona State Sun Devil isn’t the same player that he once was but he can still score the ball fairly well. So when his rating in the new NBA 2K25 video game was revealed, some fans weren’t happy.

He was given a rating of 84, five points below the rating that he had a year ago. His usage and statistics did drop but that was mainly due to him sharing the court with two other All-Star caliber players.

Last year, he averaged 16.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game. He also shot 38.1 percent from deep, the third-highest mark of his career from downtown.

Harden caught up with KHOU 11 News Houston and was asked about his low rating on the new video game. The 10-time All-Star seemed to shrug it off, saying that he was out to prove himself this season.

“Nah, I don’t… I’m going to show ’em on the court. I don’t really care about my rating,” he said with a chuckle.

Without George on the team any longer, the value of Harden will go up. His responsibility level also increases as he will need to work with fellow co-star Leonard to figure out how to get the Clippers to that next level.

Los Angeles will rely on more depth this season, with Harden likely running the show as the main point guard. He has continued to excel at running an offense, putting his teammates in different places for success.

For the Clippers to do something substantial this season, Harden will need to prove that he is still an All-Star-level talent. Especially with the injury history of Leonard, Harden may be the biggest X-factor in determining how far the Clippers go this year.
