Charges have been filed in the International Criminal Tribunal against 52 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in connection with the July massacre of anti-discrimination students. Among them, 32 journalists have also been accused.

On August 14, an application was filed against 10 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for genocide and crimes against humanity in the investigation agency of the International Criminal Tribunal. The father of Arif Ahmed Siam, the ninth class student of Savar, who was killed in the quota reform movement. Bulbul Kabir made this application. Later, Advocate Gazi MH Tamim filed the application at the head office of the investigation agency at Dhanmondi of the tribunal along with the chief coordinator of the agency.
In the petition, July 15 to August 5 was mentioned as the date of incident. It is also mentioned in the application that those who were injured during this time and later died on different dates will also be covered. Apart from this, the entire Bangladesh has been mentioned as the place of the incident.
The charge states in the nature of the crime that, under the orders and plans of the accused number one to nine, the other accused persons committed genocide and crimes against humanity by indiscriminately firing with native and firearms and killing the general unarmed student-mob of anti-discrimination students for their total or partial extermination.
