Two children died while playing in the pond in Gomstapur of Chapainawabganj. They died in a pond in Mominpara of Chaudala Union of the upazila around noon on Friday (May 17).
Those who died are Mominpara Md. Son of Daud Ali. Farhana Khatun (3), daughter of Faheem (4) and his cousin Mofizul. They are about cousins.
Gomstapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Chowdhury Zobair Ahmed said, two children were playing in the pond next to the house. At that time they drowned in the water of the pond. A UD case has been registered at the police station. The bodies of the two children have been handed over to their families.
