Abdur Rauf, father-in-law of the country's top online news portal risingbd.com, senior reporter SM Nuruzzaman Tanim, passed away (inna lillahi wa inna ilahi rajioon). He was 83 years old.
He passed away on Sunday (April 6) at 12:45 pm at his home in Doctorpara area of Kola Union under Badalgachi police station of Naogaon district. He is survived by his wife, one son and three daughters and Gunagrahi.
He was suffering from heart disease for a long time.
Confirming the news of his death, journalist SM Nuruzzaman Tanim said that the burial of the deceased will be completed in his own cemetery in Doktorpara area of Cola Union after Zohar prayer on Sunday.
Incidentally, Abdur Rauf was a prisoner of East Pakistan during the 1971 War of Independence. He returned to the country during the post-independence prisoner exchange. On August 16, 1975, he went to Kuwait on a peacekeeping mission. He successfully completed the mission there and returned to the country.
