Death of Shaheen injured in Ansar attack while rescuing his son

On the night of August 25, in front of the secretariat, while rescuing his son and his friends, he was seriously injured in the attack by Ansar members. Shaheen Howladar (45) died. He was under treatment in ICU of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

He died on Wednesday (September 4) morning. Shaheen Haulada was a car driver by profession. His house is in Kachubunia village of Mongla police station in Khulna. Father's name is Sobhan Howlader. He lived with his family including two sons and a daughter in a house on Road No. 30, Khilgaon.

Hasan Ahmed Vishal, son of Shaheen Howladar, said at the hospital morgue that he and his friends were on the streets from the beginning of the student movement. On August 25, ordinary Ansar members surrounded the secretariat and after hearing the news that they had attacked the students there, they went in front of the secretariat with some friends. Ansar members took position on both sides of the secretariat at around 9 pm and they got stuck in the middle. Vishal called the driver father to get out of there. Shahin Howladar went to rescue them from there.

He was looking for his son walking in front of the secretariat. Then the members of Ansar started beating Elopathari with sticks. After a while, a student answered the call and said that Ansar members had hit his father. He immediately went to his father and brought him to Dhaka Medical that night. Admitted to the ICU of the hospital. There he underwent head surgery. Live support is maintained. He died this morning while undergoing treatment.

In this regard, Vishal's friend Ramzan Howladar said, “My friend's father originally went to fetch us from the secretariat that day.” But they couldn't find us there. At that time Ansar members beat and injured him thinking that he was a student. The video of him being beaten has also gone viral on social media. He was also seen being beaten in the video. We want exemplary punishment for this.

The Deputy Inspector (SI) of Shahbag police station confirmed the death. Sanaul Haque said that on the request of the family, the body of Shaheen Hawlad was handed over to the relatives without an autopsy. However, he also said that a wrongful death case has been filed in this incident.
