Decision to set up a commission to search for missing persons, issue a public notice


The government has decided to issue a public notice to search for the missing persons. Besides, a five-member 'Commission of Inquiry' has been constituted for the investigation. This information was informed in a press release of the Cabinet Department on Sunday (September 8).

On behalf of the commission, the notification signed by Tanveer Ahmed, Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet, informed that the law enforcement agencies namely Bangladesh Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Border Guard Bangladesh, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Special Branch, Intelligence Branch, Ansar Battalion, National Intelligence Agency ( The government has set up a five-member Commission of Inquiry to trace the enforced disappearances through any member of the country's law enforcement and enforcement agencies, including NSI), Defense Force, Directorate General of Defense Intelligence (DGFI), Coast Guard.

It was held at 11 am at the office of the Commission (96, Gulshan Avenue, Dhaka) under the chairmanship of Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury, President of the Commission. Other members were present in the first meeting of the commission.

It is informed that the activities of the commission will be conducted from 10 am to 6 pm every day except government holidays.
