Dhaka Metropolitan PP is Ehsanul Haque Samazi

Supreme Court lawyer Ehsanul Haque Samazi has been appointed as Public Prosecutor (PP) of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court.

The Solicitor Division (GP-PP Branch) of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has issued an order in this regard on Tuesday. This information was confirmed by Rezaul Karim, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

According to the order, Ehsanul Haque Samazi has been temporarily appointed as Public Prosecutor (PP) of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court. And the appointment of Abdullah Abu, who has been serving in this position, was cancelled. This order will be effective immediately.

Ehsanul Haque Samazi said on Wednesday that he has heard about being appointed as the Chief PP of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court. However, he has not yet received the appointment papers.

Lawyer Ehsanul Haque Samazi served as Chief PP of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court from 2007 to 2009. He has also served as a legal consultant to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)-run National Consultative Organization for the necessary amendments to the existing Criminal Procedure Code in Bangladesh.

Lawyer Ehsanul Haque Samazi obtained LLB (Honours) in 1984 and LLM in 1985 from Dhaka University. Enrolled as a lawyer on 30 October 1986. On November 4 of that year, he became a member of the Dhaka Bar Association. On April 7, 1988, he was listed in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He became a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association on 21 January 1992.
