Diamond World Limited Managing Director (MD) Dilip Kumar Agarwala has been arrested on various charges including murder, money laundering, tax and VAT evasion, corruption. The director of RAB's Legal and Media Wing confirmed this information to the media. Colonel Munim Ferdous.

He was arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday (September 3) night from the high-rise building 'Akash Tower' in Gulshan of the capital. Lt. Colonel Munim Ferdous said that RAB-1 arrested Diamond World Managing Director Dilip Kumar Agarwala from Gulshan in the capital.

According to RAB, Dilip Kumar Agarwala has been accused of money laundering, cheating and fraud in the name of importing gold and diamonds through smuggling from abroad. Earlier, RAB members surrounded Dilip Kumar Agarwala's Gulshan office around 10 pm on Tuesday. Then the raid started in that office. Meanwhile, a notification from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police said on Tuesday that the financial crime unit of the agency has started a money laundering investigation against Diamond World and its interests.

According to CID information, he is accused of money laundering, cheating and forgery in the name of smuggling gold and diamonds from abroad. He has been fraudulently selling high-quality glass pieces instead of diamonds through nominal showrooms in different districts of the country. Apart from this, he has built huge wealth in Malaysia, Dubai and Canada including smuggling syndicates in Dubai, Singapore, three jewelery showrooms in Kolkata, India, 11 houses.

According to the notification, Dilip Kumar Agarwala, Managing Director of Diamond World, has been charged with money laundering, fraud and forgery in the name of importing gold and diamonds from abroad, selling high-quality glass pieces as genuine diamonds through name-only showrooms in various districts, gold smuggling in Dubai-Singapore. A money laundering investigation by CID Financial Crimes was initiated after initial allegations of syndicate control, three jewelery shops and 11 houses in Kolkata, India and acquisition of huge illegal assets in Malaysia, Dubai and Canada and fraudulently investing Rs 40 crore as director of a bank. Incidentally, a daily recently published news about the various irregularities of Dilip Kumar Agarwala, the managing director of Diamond World. Dilip Agarwala was a member of Awami League's sub-committee on industrial affairs for two consecutive terms. A case was filed against 161 people including Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Sajib Wazed Joy and Dilip Agarwala of Diamond World in connection with the shooting death of Hriday Hossain Shihab of Sannyasirchar area of ​​Shivchar on July 19 in Badda of the capital during the anti-discrimination student movement.
