Chairman of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Prof. Dr. met with EU President for European Markets Roland Chai and Adam Kostial, President of Sweden's renowned stock exchange Nasdaq Stockholm AB. Hafiz Muhammad Hasan Babu.
The meeting was held at Nasdaq Stockholm AB in Sweden on Tuesday (April 7). This information has been informed in the press release sent by DSE.
It is mentioned in the notification, in the meeting with the two parties, the chairman of DSE, Prof. Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Hasan Babu said that the capital market of Bangladesh is emerging. European stock exchanges will maintain overall cooperation in the development of the capital market of Bangladesh. This will further develop relations between the two countries with the Dhaka Stock Exchange. Besides, the capital market of Bangladesh will prosper with the cooperation of both parties.
Meanwhile, on the same day, DSE chairman Professor Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Hasan Babu held a separate meeting with Adam Kostial, President of Sweden's Stock Exchange Nasdaq Stockholm AB.
During the meeting, Adam Kostial, President of Nasdaq Stockholm AB, briefed them on their products, listing and de-listing processes, market management processes and the role of the Board of Directors of Nasdaq Stockholm AB in managing the Exchange.
In the meeting, the chairman of DSE, Professor Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Hasan Babu highlighted the emerging economy of Bangladesh and various aspects of Bangladesh's capital market and said that since 2014, Dhaka Stock Exchange has been using Nasdaq OMX's X-Treme iNet matching engine and Sweden-based company Trapets AB's InstantWatch market surveillance software to modernize its trading platform. DSE seeks cooperation in strategic and dynamic development plans with a long and successful relationship with Nasdaq Stockholm
The DSE chairman also discussed knowledge sharing and collaboration on product and technology development, market monitoring and surveillance, expanding financial literacy programs and attracting foreign investors. He expressed hope that the capital market of Bangladesh will prosper with the cooperation of Nasdaq Stockholm in managing the capital market.
Later Dr. Hasan Babu also discussed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on mutual cooperation between DSE and Nasdaq Stockholm AB. At the same time Dr. Hasan Babu invited Nasdaq Stockholm President Adam Kostial to visit Dhaka Stock Exchange, the main capital market of Bangladesh, at his convenience. President of Nasdaq Stockholm AB agreed to DSE's visit to Dhaka Stock Exchange.
