Education Minister said since when classes will be closed on Saturday


Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel said that after Eid-ul-Azha, secondary schools will not have classes on Saturday.

He said, teaching in the classroom all the time under extreme pressure will not result in very good results. It is temporary. Hopefully, maybe after Eid-ul-Azha, it will not have to continue, hopefully.

He said these things in response to the questions of journalists at the press conference after the announcement of SSC and equivalent exam results in the ministry meeting room at the secretariat on Sunday.

In response to a question about Saturday holiday in secondary schools, the minister said, “We will take a decision on this matter in stages.” In the current curriculum, it was decided to keep schools open on Saturdays to give students a fixed time to do their homework. There were other issues. Since we are missing almost 9 working days, we are trying to get those working days by keeping school open on Saturdays. That is why this arrangement. But it is temporary.'

The minister also said that this is not a permanent decision. Of course, we also need teachers to rest at certain times. Students also need rest. It is important to see whether the students are doing their homework to the best of their ability.

Earlier, secondary and higher secondary level schools, colleges, madrasas and technical educational institutions have opened from May 5. And since the opening of the educational institution, teaching will continue even on Saturdays. On May 4, the Ministry of Education issued a notification in this regard.
