Election commissioners chased after resignation, shoes thrown at cars


An angry crowd chased the commissioners as they left the Election Commission (EC) building after the resignation. Also Election Commissioner Begum Rashida Sultana and Md. An angry mob threw shoes at Anishur Rahman's car. The incident took place in front of the election hall in Agargaon on Thursday (September 5) at noon.

Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal announced his resignation in front of the media for the last time at 12 noon.

The Awal Commission termed the press conference on the last working day as a 'courtesy exchange' with journalists. Although he signed the resignation letter in front of the media after the written statement. At the end of the speech, Kazi Habibul Awal left without giving any opportunity for questions.
