Event technology consultancy, Event Footprints, has launched a four-part accreditation in smart badge technology deployment, the first in the UK event industry, beginning with an inaugural set of sessions for major experiential and event agencies – Event Squared, BCD Meetings & Events, Touch Associates, and Outsourced Events, focusing on Klik SmartBadge™ from Bizzabo.
Sixteen event tech experts attended the event at Event Footprints’ HQ in Hampshire to participate in the Smart Badge Accreditation programme. Event Footprints founder, Rob Curtis explains, “The Klik SmartBadge is one of the most in-demand onsite technologies right now; there is an industry shortage of skilled people with in-depth knowledge of on-site deployment of smart badges and how to maximise the benefits from using them, so we wanted to develop this programme to build key partnerships with agencies that had experience and expertise in complex onsite deployment of event technology.”
Cara Cory, senior operations lead at Touch, said after completing the workshop, “Touch is partnering with Event Footprints to deploy Klik SmartBadge technology for one of our clients later this year and throughout 2025. Throughout this year, we’ve worked closely with Rob and his team and have become well-acquainted with this technology. We attended the training led by Rob and his team, which provided an in-depth understanding of the technical details and on-site deployment. The training was extremely valuable, and we feel well-prepared and confident to deliver this technology successfully.”
Curtis added, “A growing number of agencies and brands are adopting smart badges for their events, so we have created the first formal accreditation process that helps all users gain a thorough understanding of how smart badges work and how to get the most from their deployment. Levels 1 and 2 are structured to upskill onsite teams for event registration and sponsor management, and Levels 3-4 for our expanding technical team to ensure that all training is in sync and there are no knowledge gaps between the two groups.”
Event Footprints selected Klik SmartBadge from Bizzabo for this first set of accreditations based on its popularity and the impetus Bizzabo is placing behind its marketing, creating considerable demand for it.
