Fatal road accident in Iran, 35 Pakistanis killed


At least 35 people were killed when a bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims overturned in Iran's Yazd. Another 20 people were injured.

Today, Wednesday (August 21) in a report on the Iranian media, the Pakistani media Geo News reported this information.

Maulana Qamar Abbas Naqvi, president of Ulamae Islam Pakistan, claimed that 30 people died on the spot. Five others died after being taken to hospital.

At least 35 Pakistani pilgrims died and 18 were injured in the accident, The Dawn reported on Radio Pakistan. The bus overturned due to brake failure. Later it caught fire.

There were total 53 passengers in the bus. Most of them are residents of Larkana, Ghotki and other cities of Sindh. The injured have been taken to Yazd Hospital.

On the other hand, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported that 28 people died in the accident. A state of emergency has been declared in various hospitals in the city to treat the injured.

According to Iranian media reports, the dilapidated bus overturned near the Taftan-Dehshi check point. Later it caught fire. There were 53 passengers in the bus. Police and rescue workers went to the spot after receiving information about the accident on Tuesday (August 20) night and rescued the bodies and the injured and sent them to the hospital.
