Here, the dam broke at 55 points and many villages were flooded. Out of this, 1.705 km of embankments were broken at 32 points. And 3.688 km dam overflowed at 23 points.

It is known that the embankment in front of the house of Belal Gazi of Ward No. 3 of Dakshin Vedkashi Union, Sinherkona of Maheshwaripur Union, Dashalia of Maharajpur Union and Dakshin Bedkashi Union broke due to tidal pressure on Sunday night. Besides, the water enters the locality by overflowing the lower parts of the dam. In these places, the people of the area could not save the last even after carrying out repair work throughout the night. Hundreds of shrimp cages were washed away, hundreds of houses and shops were destroyed.
Koira Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) ABM Tariq Uz Zaman said that the dam was damaged at a relatively low and dangerous place. Water Development Board people are working there. This situation has arisen due to rising tidal water.
Shibsa and Dhaki river dams of Dakop upazila have broken and the area of ββward number 4 and 5 of Kaminibasia village of Tildanga union has been submerged. Areas adjacent to Kalabagi Fakirkona, Jhulantapara and Panditchandra School in Sutarkhali Union of Upazila were completely flooded. In this situation, the local residents are in extreme anxiety.
Kshitish Goldar, UP member of Ward No. 5 of Tildanga Union, said that water has entered through five points in the same area. Almost the whole of Ward No. 4 and 5 of Kaminibasia village has been submerged by saline water.
He also said, I have never seen such a high tide before. The part of the embankment in the area adjacent to the old police camp at Kaminibasia at the mouth of the Dhaka and Sibsa rivers was not too weak. But because it is quite low, the water enters inside by crossing the embankment due to high tidal pressure. Then five points of the embankment were broken.
Dakop Upazila Nirbahi Officer Joydev Chakraborty said that tide water has entered several areas of Dakop. Water Development Board is working on this.
