Hasanul Haque Inu, the former minister and head of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad), a partner party of the Awami League government, has been detained. Police arrested him from Uttara in the capital on Monday afternoon (August 26).
He has been arrested in a murder case filed in connection with the death of a student during the anti-discrimination student movement. One of the Dhaka Metropolitan Intelligence Police has confirmed this information.
Hasanul Haque Inu is one of the leaders of the 14-party alliance led by the recently deposed Awami League. Rashed Khan Menon, the president of Bangladesh Workers Party, another partner of this alliance has already been arrested.
