The Boston Celtics finished off one of the more impressive runs to an NBA title in recent memory this past season, ending the regular season with a record of 64-18. Boston followed that up by going 16-3 in the postseason en route to the franchise’s 18th NBA championship.

Led by superstar duo Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Boston had been one of the top teams each of the last few seasons. They finally broke through last year but it didn’t come without some drama.
For years, there has been talk about the team breaking up the duo of Brown and Tatum but Boston held strong. Even in the middle of the NBA Finals, Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd tried to put the two players against one another with some comments.
Tatum responded to the comments made, saying it was nothing new for the team.
“We understand people try to drive a wedge between us,” Tatum said. “This is not our first time at the rodeo.”
Combining this with the fact that Brown wasn’t selected to participate on Team USA’s roster this summer, as well as Tatum getting benched multiple times, one could see a trend. Former NBA Sixth Man of the Year, Lou Williams, believes that there is an agenda going on against the Celtics.
“Is there a conspiracy theory going on against Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown bro? I really wanna know because I’m trying to wrap my head around this whole concept of Jaylen Brown not being on that team. I’m trying to wrap my head around the league trying to pit them against each other when they’ve never done that to two superstars. I’ve never seen that. And not you got JT not getting minutes.”

While there may not be an ongoing agenda directly against Boston, it is certainly interesting. The league itself may fear the Celtics since both Tatum and Brown are still in their primes.
They may see this duo as a legitimate threat to start a dynasty so the attempts to drive a wedge between them could try to prevent that.

Tatum and Brown haven’t let the outside noise distract them from winning at the highest level. They have reached two NBA Finals together and could be on the verge of a few more considering that the Celtics roster is essentially the same from a year ago.
The pure dominance between the two stars should scare the league, especially now that they have more experience of winning under their belt. If anything will break the players up, it will be salary cap constrictions for Boston, not the opinions of people outside the organization.
