Meghna Group of Industries is producing fresh brand soybean oil by reducing the retail price by Tk 10 per liter from March 1 following the instructions of the Ministry of Commerce.
A delegation from the Directorate of Consumer Protection visited the edible oil division of the Meghna Group on Saturday to monitor whether the mills were producing, refining and supplying soybean oil to the market at the price set by the government.
They verified the activities and documents of the Edible Oil Department. Mohammad Hasanuzzaman, Assistant Director of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection said that the price of edible oil produced with the guidance of the Ministry is available.
He said that at the new price, bottled soybean oil is selling at Tk 163 per liter and open soybean oil at Tk 149. Selling 5 liters for 800 Tk.
On February 20, State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu announced the new price of soybean oil by reducing it by Tk 10 per liter. He said that the prices will be effective from March 1.
