Gazi Tires building is on fire again

The six-storey building of Gazi Tires factory in Rupsi, Rupganj, Narayanganj was announced to be extinguished, but the fire was seen burning there again.

The fire service and civil defense said that the fire that was set in the factory at night after looting throughout the day on Sunday was extinguished at around 5 am on Tuesday after a long 32-hour effort. But from this afternoon, the fire started burning again somewhere in the six-storey building. It was gradually increasing.

He also said that the building is also in a dangerous condition due to the fire burning for a long time As a result, it is not possible to carry out rescue operations to find out about the casualties

Meanwhile, the fire service had a plan to carry out a rescue operation in the building in the afternoon after putting out the fire early in the morning. The fire service also wants the cooperation of the 'expert engineer' team of the public works department to ensure whether the building can be entered. However, in the afternoon, a public works team was unable to enter due to intense heat and fire burning in some parts.

Sub-Divisional Engineer of Narayanganj Public Works Department Chaiful Islam said that a team of their engineers came to inspect the building in the afternoon. But even though the fire was extinguished in the building, he could not enter due to excessive heat.

He said, I saw from outside, the concrete is falling from different parts of the building due to the heat of the fire. Fires were still burning in some places. The building is in a very dangerous condition. The fire service said that they will be able to completely extinguish the fire by tomorrow. Then we will come back and observe and suggest whether a rescue operation can be carried out.
