Genocide must be prosecuted: Jamaat Ameer

Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that the Awami League government has carried out clear genocide in its greed for power. The government has killed its citizens not only on the ground but also from the air. This genocide carried out in a free country is in no way acceptable. We demand the current government to arrest the murderers and bring them to justice.

He said these things at the Jamaat's Shura session at Al-Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar, Dhaka on Thursday (September 5). Under the direction of Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, Nayeb Amir Professor Mujibur Rahman, Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher and Maulana Shamsul Islam along with members of the Central Executive Council and Central Majlis were present.

Jamaat Ameer said, after 15 and a half years as a party, we have been treated with hostility. Our registration has been revoked. At the last minute, the government got desperate and banned us. We said we will not retaliate. This means we will not take the law into our own hands. But the one who commits specific crime – he will be prosecuted and punished. The genocide must be prosecuted and the crimes committed in the last 15 and a half years must be prosecuted.

He also said that some clever rich people of the country looted the people's wealth and took the money out of the country by blowing up the banks. This means all of us. This means 18 crore people. This money must be brought back and the looters must be brought back and brought to justice wherever they are in the world. They are enemies of the nation, they are robbers. The country must be protected from them. Today is the time to unite the divided nation. There should be a voice against injustice and untruth. We will guard together so that no one can fail this desired change of the nation. We must take an uncompromising stand for freedom. May Allah have mercy on Bangladesh. May Allah bless us to build a civilized united nation.
