The court has granted a six-day remand against Golam Dastgir Gazi, former minister and member of parliament of Narayanganj-1 constituency, in the case of murder committed in Rupganj police station of Narayanganj. Court police inspector Abdur Rashid confirmed the matter.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Kazi Mohammad Mohsen granted a six-day remand after the hearing on Sunday (August 25) afternoon when he was taken to the court asking for a 10-day remand.

Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan, the lawyer for the plaintiff side of the case, said that Golam Dastgir Gazi, former minister and MP of Narayanganj-1 seat, was requested to be remanded for 10 days in the murder case of teenager Roman Mia. The court granted six days' remand after hearing both sides.
Earlier last Saturday night Golam Dastgir Gazi was arrested from Shantinagar area of ββthe capital. A DB team arrested him from a relative's house in Shantinagar. Later, Roman Mia, a class 10 student of Navkisloy High School in Rupganj, was arrested for the murder. On August 21, the deceased's aunt Rina filed the case as the plaintiff. In this case, 45 people, including Sheikh Hasina, Ubaidul Quader and Golam Dastgir's son Golam Mortuza Pappa, were named and 60 others were named as accused.
