Government employees 'in the news' if they don't submit asset accounts

The senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration said that the process of giving an account of assets to all government officials and employees of the country will begin within the next 15 days. Mokhles ur Rahman.

He also warned that if no one gives an account of the wealth, 'there is news'. The Secretary of Public Administration said these things to the journalists in his office at the Secretariat on Monday.

He said that a five-member committee has been formed to prepare a simple form to account for the assets of all government employees, and determine the time and procedure for submission.

Mokhles ur Rahman said that the committee will recommend from this committee within the next seven days how the process of accounting for immovable and immovable assets will be done. He said, after that, the form will be delivered to all government offices in the country within seven days.

'In total, the process of submitting the asset account will begin within 15 days,' added the Public Administration Secretary.

Earlier on Sunday, a notification was issued instructing all government employees to submit asset statements. It has directed all government employees to submit asset statements.

As per the law, every government employee is required to declare immovable or immovable property at the time of joining service. Thereafter, the statement of decrease-increase in assets is to be submitted to the government through the appointing authority every five years.

But this rule is not obeyed. Earlier, the Ministry of Public Administration had written several letters in this regard, but no progress was made.

Mokhles ur Rahman said, all government employees have been instructed to submit asset statements. Earlier, only officers were spoken about. But it has been seen that many class IV employees who do not pay income tax also have a lot of illegitimate wealth…4 billion 900 crore or so huge wealth is available to class IV employees.

“We will definitely tell you what will happen if you don't submit the asset account. If you don't submit, there is news, it's simple. There is legitimate news. I will tell you what the news is when I give the letter (form),' he added.

Stating that there are 1.5 lakh government employees in the country, the senior secretary of public administration said that five types of forms will be prepared periodically according to the types of employees. A different form will be prepared for those who do not pay tax.
