Government's new instructions on contract renewal of Hajj agencies

The preliminary work registration for Hajj 2025 has started. The registration started from September 1 and will continue till November 30. However, in order to start this registration process, the government has instructed the agencies to renew the contract with the Haj office soon. Otherwise, the user ID of Hajj Agency may be closed.

In a letter sent to the agencies, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said that according to the conditions (g) of the memorandum issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs on August 29 for conducting the next Hajj activities, each agency is instructed to sign an agreement with the Hajj office along with the updated papers of Hajj license, travel license and trade license and income tax certificate. is given Otherwise, the agency's user ID may be closed, the letter said.

Meanwhile, 29 people registered on the first day of Hajj registration, which started from September 1. One of them is under private management and the rest is under government management.

According to a notification from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the quota of pilgrims for Bangladesh in 2025 is one lakh 27 thousand 198 people. When this quota is filled, the initial registration process will automatically close.

The notification also says that any person who has previously or newly pre-registered can do initial registration by depositing three lakh rupees. The remaining amount of the Hajj package price must be paid within the time specified in the package.

On the other hand, Bangladesh could not fulfill the quota given by Saudi due to the increase in Hajj expenses in the last two years. Last year, 85 thousand 252 people performed Hajj with guides under government and private management. In this situation, the interim government has announced to reduce the cost of Hajj. But he has not yet said how much money will be reduced.
