Hasnat Abdullah's Facebook status regarding Rafi's 'Taka 32 Crore'

An online portal reported that Khan Talat Mahmood Rafi, co-coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, earned Tk 32 crore in 4 months by “lobbying” on various issues. Later they deleted the news and apologized.

Hasnat Abdullah, convener of anti-discrimination student movement, spoke about these issues. He posted a post on his verified account on the social media Facebook around 7 pm on Wednesday.

In the post, he said, these campaigns have started since June. At first, Saddam said that we started the movement by eating 100 crore rupees. Even on August 4, it was said that he was caught while running away with money. A few days ago, the news of eating 200 crore taka was spread. Yesterday I heard that the army arrested me and took me to the police station.

A little while ago, I saw that Talat Rafi had eaten 32 crore taka. Namely a newspaper reported without any source and we all believed! keep going Hasina had to fall by fighting these rumors and propaganda. We have accepted. This fight is our destiny. It will continue.

Meanwhile, coordinator Rafio gave a video message on Facebook this evening. He denied the allegations leveled against him and said, “I am very disappointed with such allegations.” I have always been faithful to the principles of the movement and the charges leveled against me are merely part of a conspiracy.

In the video message, Rafi also said that every complaint should be properly investigated and the conspirators should be punished. He demanded the government to investigate the incident.
