According to local authorities, 50 people have been confirmed dead and 15 people are still missing as of Monday (August 19) evening due to floods and landslides in Jijing city.
More than 128,000 people were affected by the flash floods and landslides, and 11,869 houses and buildings collapsed, according to the Jijing Emergency Rescue, Recovery and Reconstruction Agency.
According to China Daily, roads, electricity, communications and water supply systems have initially been normalized in all administrative villages in the disaster-affected areas of Jijing City. The affected residents are being properly rehabilitated. Rescue efforts and post-disaster reconstruction are underway.
