The 2024 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will begin on June 30. The notification circulating on social media that the exam has been postponed by a month is not true. The Ministry of Education has also advised that no one should be misled by the fake notification.
Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education, Mohammad Abul Khair, confirmed the matter on Friday (March 31) night.
He said that the examination will be held as per the previously announced routine. No decision has been taken on postponing the exam. The notification that has been circulated is fake and bogus.
The fake notification spread on Facebook was titled 'Higher Secondary Examination 2024 One Month Delay Notice'. It said that based on the advance of cyclone, flood and two rounds of students' nationwide agitation, the HSC examination to be held on June 30 will be held on the short syllabus given by the board on July 30. Soon the new exam schedule will be released on July 30, 2024.
Meanwhile, a section of candidates have been holding human chain and protest program for several days demanding the postponement of the HSC and equivalent exams to be held on June 30.
These students were seen expressing excitement after seeing the fake notification of postponing the exam. However, the ministry says that they have no decision on postponing the exam. This exam will be held at the scheduled time. The Ministry of Education has advised that no one should be misled by the fake notification.
