Only the brave among us will dare to wake someone who’s not a fan of early mornings, and one mom has experienced that result for herself.
Baby Parker had just woken up from his biggest nap of the day and had a displeased look on his face after his mom disturbed his slumber.
“Parker is not a fan of waking up,” Rylie Christie told Newsweek.
In the TikTok clip, the 21-year-old mom can be seen affectionately squeezing his cheeks and wishing him a good morning while he stares back, completely unimpressed by her energy.
Mom Rylie Christie had a feeling that her son’s expression after waking up was going to make her laugh, so she began recording right away.

“You can see the displeased, tired-of-it-all, unsatisfied look he has on his face right away,” Christie said.
The mom, who lives in Daytona Beach, Florida, admitted that she was never much of a morning person herself before Parker was born and would sleep in until her job demanded she get out of bed.
Her video’s caption says it all: “POV: you’ve never been a morning person and birthed a mini me.”
“Normally, I’d go to bed around 12 to 1 a.m. and wake up at 11 to start my day, but having a baby quickly changed that,” Christie told Newsweek. Despite Parker’s disdain for mornings, he insists on starting his day bright and early.
“As much as Parker hates waking up, he just won’t sleep past 6 a.m., so there [have] definitely been some unpleasant mornings,” Christie said.
Now, the whole house has adjusted to Parker’s schedule, with bedtime moved to a respectable 9 p.m. so everyone can wake up refreshed—or at least attempt to. “His morning cuddles are the best, so it makes it a little more bearable,” Christie said.
Christie’s clip was a hit among other social media users, racking up over 780,000 views and counting.
Referring to Christie’s “good morning” comment, one TikTok user joked, “What’s so good about it?”
Another mom, who could relate to Christie’s struggle with early wakeups, said that both of her babies are “morning people.” Christie replied that playing with her son before 9 a.m. is a real battle.
Christie told Newsweek that she didn’t expect the thousands of shares and saves on her video and how viewers all think her son is hilarious. “Everyone is getting a kick [out of] his faces.”
Judging by Christie’s clip, it turns out that the morning wake-up struggle has no age limit.
