I will return to work only if those involved are arrested within 24 hours: agitating doctors

The agitating doctors said that the complete shutdown has not been postponed. However, if the security issue is confirmed, the emergency department of the hospitals will be opened immediately. Also, they will return to work only if those involved are arrested within 24 hours.

The agitating doctors said these things at the press conference of Director Brigadier General Nazmul and Health Advisor Nurjahan Begum at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday (September 1) evening.

They said that if the culprits are arrested within 24 hours after ensuring security, the program will be suspended.

Earlier, the Director of DMK Hospital Brigadier General Nazmul said in the press conference, “The doctors have withdrawn from the complete shutdown on the assurance of the arrestee. The critical indoor department including the emergency department of the hospital will be open.

He also said, 'From now on, the security of DMK Hospital will be ensured. Everyone will return to work after the arrest of the accused.

Health advisor Nurjahan Begum justified the demands of the doctors and said, 'A shameful incident has happened to them. The vice-chancellor of the private university BUBT will be asked to know who was involved in the attack. Adviser informed about protection of doctors and said, 'Security has been strengthened. The attackers should be arrested within 24 hours as soon as possible.

An indefinite strike was called across the country to protest against the beating of Dhaka Medical College Hospital doctors. The doctors demanded to ensure the maximum safety of the doctors and identify the culprits and bring them under the law as soon as possible. After the incident, two platoons of BGB were deployed on Sunday afternoon to protect the doctors.
