Imam was killed by a bus in Sherpur
Imam Kakkari Ershad Ali (65) of the mosque was killed when he was hit by a speeding bus in Sherpur. On Tuesday (April 16) morning, Imam Ershad Ali died on the spot after being hit by a speeding bus in Howrah Amtala area of Vatshala Union of Sherpur Sadar Upazila. In that incident, the speeding bus fled from the spot.

On Tuesday (April 16) morning, Imam Ershad Ali died on the spot after being hit by a speeding bus in Howrah Amtala area of Vatshala Union of Sherpur Sadar Upazila. In that incident, the speeding bus fled from the spot.
According to the police and locals, Imam Kakkari Mohammad Ershad Ali of Howrah Amtala Jame Masjid stopped for an auto-rickshaw on the side of the road to go to Kanashakhola at around 7:30 am.
At that time, a high-speed bus heading from Sherpur to Dhaka hit Qari Ershad Ali who was standing on the side of the Dhaka-Sherpur highway and ran away. Imam died on the spot. After receiving the information, the police went to the spot and recovered the body.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Sadar Police Station Emdadul Haque said that the body was recovered from the spot after receiving information about the accident. Attempts are being made to arrest the bus that escaped in that incident. Further legal action is also being taken.
