India to be asked to return Sheikh Hasina: Foreign Adviser

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina commented that India can return it if it wants to. Touhid Hossain.

On Sunday (September 1), the Foreign Affairs Adviser made this comment in response to a question from journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Tauhid Hossain said that whether India will return it is their matter. We have a contract. You can pay if you want. There is a legal process. I don't know how that will happen. If the legal system asks (the Ministry of Law and Home Affairs) to bring him (Sheikh Hasina) back, then of course we will try.

The foreign adviser said, if the law-court tells us to bring him back then he will try to make arrangements.

When asked about the status of Sheikh Hasina in India, Tauhid Hossain said, the red passport has been canceled automatically. Ask this Indian in what status he is there.

India is implementing various projects in Bangladesh. After the fall of the Awami League government, it is seen that many projects including road infrastructure have been stopped. There are no contractors. When asked about the government's comments on these projects, the advisor said, “See, after a revolution, there are some problems.” It was here too. We are gradually bringing it under control. Now they may be closed for security reasons. Everything will be normal in a few days. There is a kind of fear, hope it will pass soon. Regarding the Indian project in Bangladesh, Tauhid Hossain said, we have to finish the ongoing projects.

Anti-India attitude has been created in Bangladesh. That is why there is a kind of panic among Indians. When the attention of the Foreign Affairs Advisor was drawn to the matter, he said, “I am in a kind of fear, if not I should call it panic.” I hope they can come out of that fear.

When asked whether the current government will reconsider the MoU signed with India at the last time, Tauhid Hossain said that the MoU is not the final agreement. So we can see whether our interest is protected here or not. We will do whatever it takes to protect our interests.
