Internet in Awe as Woman Turns Fridge Into Wine Dispenser: ‘Life Hack 101’

A woman on TikTok has gone viral after sharing her tip to store wine in the fridge like a professional.

In a viral clip shared on the platform in July under the username @clareandnik, the poster can be seen pouring a bottle of white wine inside the fridge water-dispenser tray, so, next time she wants a drink, she can just press the glass against it.

“Tell me your sister is extra… without telling me your sister is extra. Great wine hack- will only work if no kids in the house,” reads a caption shared along with the viral video.

Data shared by Statista found out that, as of March 2024, about 21 percent of people aged 18 to 29 years said that they drink wine regularly. The number went up to 27 percent, in the following age group, 30 to 49 years, dropping again to 19 percent in the age group 50 to 64 years.

The latest data on wine consumption shows that, in 2022, it reached 2.86 gallons per person, dropping 9 percent from 3.18 gallons in 2021. Numbers hadn’t been this low since 2015, when they stood at 2.85 percent.

In the same year, the total alcoholic beverage sales numbers in the country reached nearly 260 billion U.S. dollars, surpassing pre-pandemic levels.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 3.7 million views and more than 108,800 likes on the platform.

One user, brick_foot, commented: “And I thought I was a rebel doing this with apple & blackcurrant juice.”

My bad posted: “I done this once when I cooking Sunday lunch, I WAS HAMMERED never again haha it was sooo easy just to refill without thinking.”

Watching_alien wrote: “If it is not airtight the alcohol will oxidise and the wine will taste lousey.”

Lollipop19727 added: “Why have I never thought of this, a nice Rose would brighten my fridge up, and a great space saver too.”

Another user, migueldu54, said: “For all those who say that the wine will spoil, the goal is for it to be fresh so that it is not kept for very long.”

Sabrina27 wrote: “Now I’ll buy it just to do this I swear… or I do it with my mother-in-law’s (fridge).”
