Inu remanded for 5 days again

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSAD) President and former Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu has been remanded for 5 days in the case of the murder of truck driver Sujan in Mohammadpur of the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saifur Rahman's court gave this order after the hearing on Tuesday (September 3) afternoon.

Earlier, the investigating officer of the case, Inspector (Investigation) of Mohammadpur Police Station, Sabuj Rahman produced Inu in the court and applied for a 10-day remand along with arrest.

A hearing was held in favor of granting a 10-day remand from the state side. Inu's lawyer held a hearing seeking cancellation of remand and bail. After hearing both sides, the court ordered his remand for 5 days.

Earlier, a team of DB Police arrested Inu from a house in Uttara on the afternoon of August 25. On August 26, the court granted him a 7-day remand in the case of the murder of businessman Abdul Wadud in the capital's New Market.

It is known that during the anti-discrimination student movement on July 20 at around 8:30 pm, truck driver Sujan was shot and killed while parking his car in Beribandh area under Mohammadpur police station. In that incident, his brother Rafiqul Islam filed a murder case.
