IPL final in Chennai sport


The seventeenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has started. The season started on March 22 with a match between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Before the start of this season, the schedule of the first part was announced by the Indian Cricket Board. Now the schedule of the final along with the rest is known.

Quoting the Indian Cricket Board, Cricbuzz reported that the second schedule matches were rumored to be held outside India due to the elections, but that is not happening. All the matches will be played in the country. Elections will be held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1.

According to the schedule of the second part, the first qualifier will be played on May 21. Eliminator will be on May 22. Both these matches will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The second qualifier will be played on May 24. And the final will be on May 26. Both the matches will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

In the first part, a schedule of 21 matches will be played every day. After that, the teams are not getting any rest before the start of the second phase. The rest of the game will start from April 8. The second part of the tournament will begin with the match between Chennai and Kolkata Knight Riders. There will be a total of 52 matches in this phase including playoffs.

Chennai has hosted the IPL final twice before, in 2011 and 2012. Both the finals were played by Chennai Super Kings. They won the 2011 title at home.
